About Me

What’s the one thing we all have in common? We all have a name. We may love it or hate it or just have learned to accept the first gift we are given, but we all have a name to introduce ourselves.

I have always been interested in names. I remember reading the New Arrivals section as a teenager in the Sunday paper on the way to church. I’d fall in love with a name I’d never considered before and was amazed and sometimes shocked about the names I saw.

Now with the Internet, my hobby  grew. Now I check out several sources for baby names from all over the country and also what babies are being names in England, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and more.

This is what this site is all about. A celebration of names. A collection of true names found in birth announcements. A site meant to help you find the right name for you and your child.

My name is Sarah.  What’s yours?

  1. Well my name is Nidaia… I go by Daya. Love them both! I have an obsession (lack of a better term) with name as well. I own multiple name books and go on many websites to read up on the meanings and story behind certain names. I just find names fascinating, I’m glad to see that I’m not alone. For awhile there I thought I was a bit weird lol

  2. My name is Angie, and its very much identified with my generation, which I used to hate but now embrace.

I thought my hobby was weird too. I wanted to buy baby name books before I even considered having a baby, but I feared potential dates would get turned off by a copy of “Beyond Jason and Jennifer” on my bookshelf. LOL.

Once I got married and had my first kid, I came out of the name nerd closet.

  3. As a Jennifer born in 1980, I always shared my name with everyone. I’ve been very intrigued with unique, meaningful names from a young age. 8 Jennifers were in my 6th grade gym class. My daughter Maven Peri will never have that problem 🙂 I think about names a lot and was the young girl buying name books before motherhood was even an option too 🙂
